Somatic Mindfulness Meditation

 

Somatic Mindfulness Meditation is a form of meditation that helps us come into relationship with our body through the receptive mind of preception and the sensory pleasures of the physical senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell. Somatic meditation is helpful to release tension/trauma patterns, reduce both emotional and physical pain, helping to increase energy, vitality and our joy of life and living.

For anyone who has experienced trauma and is experiencing symptoms of PTSD, a modified version of somatic mindfulness meditation can aid in trauma recovery. To provide a safe and contained space to negotiate these PTSD symptoms this form of meditation is initially done one to one with Grainne, this is to have direct support in building resources and self regulation of symptoms.
