BCST during pregnancy

Some women sail through their pregnancy, while for others it can be difficult. Whatever your experience, Biodynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy (BCST) can help in many ways. BCST helps relieve minor ailments, settle nervous and hormonal systems, supports your body’s physical changes and provides a space for quiet reflection and time to bond with your growing baby inside you. BCST is a safe and gentle choice for pregnant women. Sessions are carried out resting in a position that is comfortable for you, whether lying on your back, side or sitting up. Typically the session is an hour, you remain fully clothes and the therapist uses a gentle non-invasive touch.

Pregnant women may come to BCST for:

  • Back pain
  • Digestive issues
  • Supporting the body in its changes during pregnancy
  • Anxiety
  • Preparing for birth

Reflexology during pregnancy

Reflexology is another safe and beneficial therapy to consider during pregnancy. Stimulating relfex points on the feet and/or hands has a therpeautic affect on the related areas of the body and system as a whole.

Some of the benefits of relfexology include

Reduces morning sickness and vomiting that persists past the first three months of pregnancy.
Helps to relieve indigestion, lower back pain, haemorrhoids and constipation.
Prepares the body for labour by balancing all the body systems, especially the endocrine system (hormonal system) which governs the labour process.

BCST and Reflexology after Pregnancy

Can help be beneficial for

  • encouraging breast milk production
  • help relieve urinary (water) retention
  • Heal after the birth
  • post paratum depression or anxiety
  • bonding with your new baby
  • support breastfeeding
